Burnside is everything you could want for an authentic log cabin experience, with all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. It is located in its own woodland plot, next to a babbling burn and a short stroll from Loch Awe, with a Scandinavian-style wood fired hot tub and wood-burning stove.
Inside the cabin
The cabin sleeps up to 8 people, having a spacious open plan lounge/dining/kitchen area, with a double bedroom, bunk room and twin-bed sleeping loft (accessed by ladder). The living area possesses a high-vaulted ceiling, with a double sofa-bed, sofa, easy chair, dining table for 8, wood burning stove and satellite TV, Blu-ray/DVD player and HiFi (via Blu-ray player and TV).
The family shower room has electric shower, toilet, wash-basin and shaver-point.
There is a well equipped kitchen area, with cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle, ‘Nespresso’ coffee-machine, and all necessary utensils, crockery and cutlery for your stay.
We also provide Wi-Fi just in case you want to contact the outside world.
The cabin is suitable for use throughout the year, whatever the extremes of weather, being lined throughout with authentic larch boarding, double-glazed, highly insulated and well heated.
Bedroom 1 - double bed , built-in wardrobe/clothes storage cupboard, bed-side cabinets.
Bedroom 2 - bunk beds, wardrobe/clothes storage, bed-side cabinet.
Sleeping loft, accessed by ladder - 2 single beds, clothes storage, bed-side cabinet, games, toys and book area.
The space outside
The drive provides parking for 2 cars.
A step-free ramp leads to the front door, suitable for wheelchair access.
The front elevation of the cabin features a decked balcony, accessed via sliding doors. From this perch, you look out over the burn. Garden furniture provides seating.
Down a few steps from the front door is a wood-fired hot tub (available to book at additional cost) and a fire pit area with BBQ grill.
The cabin’s grounds provide ample space for children to play safely outside.
Additional notes
This is a no-smoking cabin.
As guests at the cabin, you have rights to fish on the loch, and from designated areas of the site. You also have use of the landing area to launch your boat. Boat hire is available in the village
The hot tub is a traditional Scandinavian-style wooden tub, and is heated via the wood-fired burner. Thus it can take some time (up to 5 hours on the first use) to heat up to required temperature. A pre-light service is available for a small additional charge to have the tub hot and ready for your arrival. Please note that our hot tub is ALWAYS emptied, chlorinated and cleaned in between guests staying.
All electricity and linen (not towels) are included within quoted prices.
We would prefer adults not to sleep on the top bunk.
